The Stand
The tripod stand is large at 260x260x260cm (along the base triangle) and 240cm tall, so it's usually best suited to outdoors. The large size means that it can fit all of our swings, and the swings can then be adjusted up and down using the chain and carabiner. It supports gentle to moderate swinging, as there is about 1m from the side of the 150cm nest swing to the poles (see the below video for an example). It also includes 3 standard pegs so you can fix it down. The stand is power coated for weather resistance.
The Swing
Made from durable and weather-resistant Oxford Polyester, the Hangout Hanging Nest is a great play space or quiet space for both indoor and outdoor use. It is portable and easy to move inside and out, though best kept under cover/shade when left for prolonged periods.
It is popular for relaxing inside while reading a book or playing a game while gently swinging. It can help to soothe over-stimulation such as from autism and sensory overload.
The stand measures 226cm tall, so the ceiling should be higher than this. The footprint of the stand is 146x130cm. The hangout measures 140cm tall and 110cm wide at the widest point. The suggested weight capacity is 100kg, and the minimum age is 3 years old.
The height can be adjusted by shortening or removing the chain so that the swing is at the right height to get in and out safely.
The hangout and stand both come disassembled. The hangout has 8 metal pieces for the 2 inner rings, while the stand has 6 main pieces. You should have 1-2 adults available for assembly.
Swapping Swings
The chain and carabiner system makes it easy to latch on and off any swings you like. Other swings that you might consider include - a hangout, a pod, or a wrap swing.

Stand Advantages:

Stand Disadvantages:
- The stand has no feet on the poles, so if you were planning to use it inside, you might need to put something under the legs to protect your floor.
- Only for gentle-moderate strength swinging. If swinging too strongly, you'd bump into the poles.
Weather Resistance:
The stand is powder coated and the swing is made from textilene mesh, which are both weather resistant. That means it can be used outdoors, though we'd still suggest not leaving the swing in the sun & rain permanently, to avoid fading.
The swing has adjustable ropes, so you can adjust to a suitable height depending on the age and height of the children or adults using it. That is in addition to the chain on the stand, which can also be used for adjusting.
Accessories:
The optional accessories (straps or anchor plates) are only offered for convenience, in case you want to have extra hanging locations in addition to the stand. The set already includes everything you need to use the stand and nest swing.
Note: Please follow the manual when setting it up. There is a trick that you should follow to get the swing together easier.
