A Compact Nest Swing Set for Younger Kids
The Kids Steel Nest Swing Set is a compact nest swing set that pairs a galvanised, powder-coated steel A-frame and green top bar with an 85cm black mat nest swing on adjustable ropes. The frame stands 181cm tall on a 198 x 194cm footprint, and comes with anchor kits for soil or concrete footings.
Compared to our other sets, this is a lighter, kids-only option. The nest swing is rated to 50kg (our 150cm nest swing with swing set stand goes up to 140kg), so it's smaller and better suited to younger children.
Why You'll Love It
- ✅ Sturdy Steel Frame: Galvanised, powder-coated steel A-frame with a green top bar, 181cm tall on a 198 x 194cm footprint.
- ✅ Comfy Nest Swing: An 85cm black mat nest swing with adjustable ropes, so you can set the height to suit.
- ✅ Secure Footing: Anchor kits included for soil or concrete footings.
- ✅ Made for Younger Kids: A lighter, kids-only set rated to 50kg, suitable for ages 3 and up.
- Clearance: Allow 2m of clear space on each side and 0.7m above, and keep the swing at least 35cm off the ground.
- Ground Surface: Do not set it up on concrete, asphalt or any other hard surface. The manual warns that grass can turn to hard-packed earth where children play most.
- Soft-Fall Surface: Bark mulch, wood chips, fine sand and fine gravel are listed as shock-absorbing surfaces, laid 150mm to 300mm deep depending on the material and the fall height. The loose surface should reach in front of and behind the swing to twice the height of the beam.
- Supervision: Adult set-up and supervision are required at all times. Not suitable for children under 3.
- Rust Check: The steel can rust, especially near the sea, so check it each season.
Standards met for this set:
- Australian safety standards
- EN71, the European toy safety standard
Warranty claims go through us. Parts are covered for 1 year. The warranty has maintenance requirements, which are outlined in the manual. A faulty part is repaired or replaced, and the warranty applies to the original buyer only.
It does not cover:
- Ordinary wear and tear: scratches, dents, fading, wear to the paint or finish, and sun damage to fabric parts.
- Rust on steel parts, unless a manufacturing fault caused it, and any rust on a set within 1.5km of salt water or exposed to ocean spray.
- Sets that have not had the maintenance in the manual, including treating rust spots.
- Use outside a family home, such as schools, childcare centres and play centres.
- Sets that have been modified or fitted with another brand's parts or accessories, and faults caused by incorrect assembly, misuse or the weather.
- Assembly, installation and call-outs.
Check the contents when the set arrives and email us if a part is missing or damaged. Claims for missing or damaged parts are not accepted more than 3 months after delivery, and the set should not be used while any part is missing. For any claim, email us photos and your order number.
- For outdoor home use only, with an adult supervising at all times.
- Set it up on flat, level ground with 2m clear of fences, walls, trees, clotheslines and other obstacles. Never set it up on concrete or asphalt. Grass can pack hard where children play, so bark mulch, wood chips or sand under the set make a softer landing.
- Fix the frame down with the ground anchors supplied before anyone uses it, and check now and then that they are still firm.
- Keep to the weight limits and ages shown on this page.
- Avoid clothing with hooks, cords or loose parts that could catch on the set.
- Look the set over before each use, and check it fully every 3 months: bolts, hangers, ropes, chains and fabric. Retighten loose bolts without over-tightening, and replace any worn or damaged part before it is used again.
- Sand back any rust and repaint it with a non-lead-based paint. Lubricate the moving metal parts, and wipe the set clean with a soft, damp cloth.
- Bringing the swings and seats inside over winter helps them last longer.
