Our products are commonly funded under the following NDIS support categories. Share these with your plan manager or OT when requesting approval.
Assistive Technology
Covers sensory swings, therapy swings, pod swings, and swing frames. Most commonly used category for our products.
Assistance with Daily Life
May apply where sensory equipment supports daily self-regulation and reduces the need for carer intervention.
Support Coordination
If your support coordinator is sourcing sensory equipment on your behalf, costs may fall under this category.
OT recommendation tip
We recommend requesting a written recommendation from your Occupational Therapist specifying the sensory swing type and therapeutic goals before submitting your NDIS claim. This significantly reduces the chance of your funding request being questioned. We're happy to provide product specifications to your OT on request — email us at admin@siestahammocks.com.au.
How NDIS invoicing works with us
Depending on how your NDIS funds are managed, the process works slightly differently. Here's exactly what to expect.
| Management type | How the process works |
|---|---|
| Self-Managed | You pay the invoice upfront. Once payment is confirmed and your equipment is dispatched, we send you an updated "Paid" invoice to submit to the NDIS portal for reimbursement. |
| Plan-Managed | We issue the invoice, which you (or we) forward to your plan manager. Once we receive their payment confirmation, we dispatch your equipment immediately. |
| NDIA-Managed | Unfortunately we do not currently process invoices for directly NDIA-managed plans. Please contact us to discuss your options. |
Ready to place an NDIS order? Fill out our dedicated invoicing form and we'll be in touch within one business day.
Request Your NDIS InvoiceYour NDIS funding journey
New to the NDIS? Here's a straightforward overview of how to access funding for sensory equipment.
Check your eligibility
To qualify you must be under 65, an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and have a permanent or significant disability. Your GP or specialist can help provide the required medical evidence.
Develop your NDIS plan
Once approved, an NDIA representative will help you create a plan outlining your goals and funding allocation. Ask your OT to include sensory equipment needs in their supporting report.
Choose your fund management type
Self-managed gives you maximum flexibility. Plan-managed means a registered provider handles the financial administration at no extra cost to your core budget.
Select your equipment & request an invoice
Browse our NDIS-eligible products above, then fill out our invoicing form. We'll issue a formal invoice your plan manager can process directly.
Receive your equipment
Once payment or remittance is confirmed, we dispatch your order from our Australian warehouses. We ship to all major cities and regional areas nationwide.
